It was 50 degrees and drizzling today in Krasnodar. Found out back home it was supposed to get down to 4 in Rio Rancho. The cold snap there spelled the end of my lettuce in the garden, it had 6" of snow on the cover, and most likely burst the heat x-changer on our tankless water heater. Jennie's mom had to have the neighbor turn off the hot water in the house, because there was a constant stream of water coming out of it. <Sigh,> if it's not one thing, it's another. We'll figure it out when we get home.
But, on a happier note, we did a little shopping here today, Jennie enjoyed getting some of her Christmas gifts here. (good thing I had all the money!) We found a very cool grandfather clock that was only 120,000rp (~$3600), but it wouldn't fit in our suitcase. That was probably a pretty good deal, even compared to American standards. We wanted to get a baby book that talked and had a little stylus to point to letters and words on the pages, but it was $40! Not such a good deal...
Got to visit the orphanage again today. Our little girl wasn't so happy today, she's teething, so she was content just to be held. She did play a bit, and Jennie got her to giggle a few times when she was tickled. She's got a very cute smile. I don't think I'll have any problems getting her to fall asleep in my arms, she almost did today. We probably would have been in big trouble with the caregivers had she konked out though, they don't like it when you mess up their kids schedules! Can't imagine how messed up our little girl's schedule has been for the last several days! Tomorrow is our last visit before we come home. It'll be hard to leave.
