Last Day in Russia

The view of Moscow from our apartment

We spent today, hanging out in the apartment.  For the price, it's even better than the hotel Mockba in Krasnodar!  Bigger too.  We had everything we've needed here right down to a microwave, crib for Vera, and a blow up ducky tub to give her a bath in!  It snowed most of the day again, though there wasn't much accumulation.  This is the view of the North side of Moscow, looking West.  We spent today waiting to get Vera's passport back from the Russian consulate.  With her registration there complete, the only thing left to do is survive the flight home!  It won't be as bad as the last two trips, we'll be leaving from Moscow, instead of Krasnodar.  What will make it more difficult, is that we'll have our little angel with us, and she will let us know when we can stop the ride and get off!  Once we land in Washington D.C., Vera will be a U.S. citizen!  Of course, she won't be in the mood to celebrate, because it will be three and a half hours past her bedtime!  From there, we'll wait in the passport control line for an hour or so, to get our paperwork processed.  Then we'll retrieve our bags, and go through customs, which could take another hour, depending on how many other international flights land before or around the same time as ours.  When the herd of cattle has passed through, us included, we'll find our gate, and get some supper before we get on the plane for our last leg of this journey back home to Albuquerque.  Sixteen hours and 20 minutes after taking off from Moscow, we'll touch down at the Sunport.  After a day like that, I can get a good night's rest on a slab of concrete.

Praying that the flights, passport checks, and customs all go smoothly, and that Vera does well on the long trip.
