Adoption Yard Sale

First of all, a huge thank you to all who donated and helped to make our 1st fundraiser a big success!  This sale wouldn't have happened without your donations, time, and prayers!  We appreciate each and every one of you and thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

Throughout the last few weeks we were meeting up with friends to either pick up their donations or arranging to have them dropped off.  People were still bringing donations on the day of the sale.  We sorted and priced all week and realized just how much our garage could hold! :)

Our day began at 5am.  When the kids heard us up they were so excited that they got up too and were ready to begin the sale!  The kids had a lemonade stand and did a wonderful job.  Their friends K & J helped so much too and between the 4 of them they made $60 selling .25 cent lemonade and $1 ice cream bars!!  So proud of them!!

We began setting up at 6am and the early birds showed up about 30min. later to do some snooping while we were bringing things out.  After set-up the rest of the day was much of a blur.  We were very busy from 7am-1pm with a few shoppers trickling in until after 3pm.  We actually sold 2 big items right at the end.  Many people were curious and it was great to share our story with others.  I got the opportunity to encourage a lady who is looking into adoption.  We couldn't have asked for better weather!  It was nice and cool in the morning, warming up later, but then cooling off with some light showers in the afternoon.

So you're asking, how much did you raise?  Drum roll.......
We raised $1607.00.  All Glory to God!

We need $3900 in order to complete the next step which is our registration with Russia.  Once  registered, we will be put on a waiting list for a referral which could take 6-12 months.

Therefore do not be anxious, saying, 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?' or 'What shall we wear?' For the Gentiles seek after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them all. But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. Matthew 6:31-32
