Favorite bible verses about adoption

We are all adopted into God's family when we receive Jesus as our Savior! 

Having predestined us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, 

according to the good pleasure of his will. Ephesians 1:5

I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you.  John 14:18

You have received the Spirit of adoption as sons, by whom we cry, "Abba! Father!" Romans 8:15

These verses speak of caring for the orphans and oppressed of society.

Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.  James 1:27

Learn to do right; seek justice. Defend the oppressed. Take up the cause of the fatherless; plead the case of the widow. 

Isaiah 1:17
